The Role of Social Capital in Improving Health Outcomes, Equity, and Resilience

Synopsis

A Primer and Quantitative Analysis

Explore the quantitative analysis of how social capital influences health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). While the impact of social determinants on health has been widely studied in high-income countries, there is limited evidence from resource-poor regions. This analysis delves into the critical role of social capital in improving health, equity, and household resilience in LMICs. By examining the resurgence of interest in social dimensions of development and the World Health Organization’s framework, this study highlights the need for policies that strengthen community ties to enhance population health amidst resource scarcity and volatility.
